Doing the Happy Dance!

Good morning friends and yes, I'll be doing the happy dance as today is my last work day before the summer holidays - phew, this term has been a long haul through and I know both staff and students are looking forward to the break. Hope this post finds you well, and gentle hugs winging their way through blogland for those who are in need today.

It's new challenge time at Incy Wincy Designs and this week we would like to see Things with Wings

We've another amazing sponsor for you this week; welcome to Mitzi from Aurora Wings who is offering this week's lucky winner a prize pack. Even if you're not the lucky one, head over to the store as Mitzi currently has a great Christmas in July promotion on: place an order up to 26th July, and automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a $50 USD shopping spree at Aurora Wings!!!!! Mitzi also very kindly supplied the DT with some images to showcase - thank you!

Here is my card for you, using the current sketch at Sketch Saturday as the inspiration for this layout:

My card recipe is as follows:

  • Card base - is premade in white card, approx 14.8cm square
  • Papers - both come from the brand new Nordic Christmas Papercrafting Collection CD Rom. The red snowflake paper is directly from the CD, whilst I used the built in "Colouriser" feature to re-colour the knitted paper to a dark grey so it tied in with the colour of the penguin.
  • Image - is the uber-cute Baby Penguin in Santa Hat by Mitzi at Aurora Wings. I have brought this little sweetie to life using my Spectrum Noir Pencils in the listed colours (and for once I'm really happy with my shading :o) !) before die cutting using the largest Die'sire Essential Scalloped Square die and doodling a border using my silver gel pen:
    • Hat - 25, 27, 93, Silver Gel Pen
    • Fur - 115, 117, 119, 120
    • Beak & Feet - 009, 120
    • Candy Cane - 25, 93, Silver Gel Pen
  • Sentiment - is from the sentiment set that came with Spring 2015 Crafter's Inspiration Magazine which I hand cut to a tag shape, before punching a hole in the end, fixing some twine through the hole, and doodling a border.

I hope you'll come over to Incy Wincy Designs and check out the other wonderful winged creations from my talented teamies, before coming back and showing us your Things with Wings - this challenge ends on Sunday 26th July 2015.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Whatever you're up to this week, I hope it's a good one for you!

#happybirthday #selfie

I don't tweet (or do "witter" as it's called in our house) but this cutie simply required a "hash tag" or two, so I'm hoping I've written them correctly!

Good afternoon friends and hope you're all well.

It's new challenge time at Incy Wincy Designs and this week our challenge is entitled Doodle What? Now, before you head off into a blind panic ('cos I've already done that, tee hee!!!!!) all we want to see on your entries is that you've hand drawn something.

Our sponsor this week is the lovely Emma Canning who is the creator of Flat Friends, where everything has been been hand made by Emma with love. Emma is very kindly offering this week's Random Winner's prize, and she also generously gave each DT member their own choice of image to showcase.

So without further ado, here is my card for you this week featuring one of Emma's cute images:

I've kept this card very clean and simple as it was for eldest Bambino, who just doesn't "do" frills and frippery but does "do" selfies and online social networking .... so this image was perfect!

My card recipe is as follows:
  • Card base - is a premade 14.8cm square base in white
  • Design Paper - comes from the Sugar and Spice Papercraft CD-Rom
  • Image - of course comes from the hand of Emma at Flat Friends, and this image is called Girl Selfie. I brought her to life using my Spectrum Noir Pens in the listed colours before die cutting her using one of my Sizzix Framelits Ovals dies using the "out of the box" technique. I finished the image off by hand drawing a border around the die cut edge using a silver gel pen.
    • Skin - FS2, FS3, FS6, CR7
    • Hair - TN1, TN2, TN3, TN7 (for once I'm actually pretty happy with this!)
    • Phone - HB1, HB2
    • Jumper - IB1, IB2, IB3
  • Sentiments - are 2 smaller Sizzix Framelits Ovals die cuts onto which I've handwritten my "hash tag" sentiments and drawn a border around the edges using my silver gel pen
  • Twine - from my stash which I wrapped around the paper panel twice, and then used another length to fix my sentiment tags

I hope you'll come over to Incy Wincy Designs and marvel at the doodling talents of my wonderful team-mates. Then share and show us your creations which feature Doodle What? - this challenge will finish on Sunday 19th July 2015.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the day!

Hugs, Helen x

All that Glitters is a Snowflake

Hi everyone!

This is just a very, very swift post from me as it's been a bit of a manic week at work, and I'm heading out to the gym to burn it off!

It's New Release Day at Sophia's Sweet Scribbles and Larissa is helping us all get ready for Christmas in good time as this month's release is entitled Winter Holidays. This is a fabulous collection of 11 winter and Christmas themed digital stamps which Larissa is in the process of adding to store, so do keep checking back and make sure you check out the full collection.

Also pop over to my DT Teamies Julie and Nicky as they're both showcasing some of these new images and, in case you're in need of yet more inspiration, check out the Sweet Scribblers! Facebook group, as we'll all be posting there too!

Anyway, here's my card featuring the "Snowflake":

My card recipe is as follows:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (with a little help from the girls at Paper Playful!):

I'll be back over the weekend with more inspiration from this gorgeous collection!

In the meantime, have a great evening!
