A Snowy Reindeer

Good morning friends and I hope this post finds you well. We've had some dry and sunny weather this weekend (makes a change from the wind and rain!) ... hope some sunshine came your way.

It's new challenge time at Incy Wincy Designs this morning, and this one might require you to use the 'little grey cells'. We want you to Add Texture to your creations.

Our wonderful sponsors for this challenge are Jodie and the team at Bugaboo Digi Stamps who are offering this week's lucky prize winner a whopping 7, yes seven!, digital stamps. If you're not our lucky winner, don't worry as everyone's a winner with Freebie Fridays at Bugaboo. Jodie has also very kindly offered the DT their choice of image for this challenge, thank you Jodie!, so without further ado here is my card:

My card recipe is as follows:
  • Base Card - is some black card I had in my stash which I cut, scored and folded to make a 10cm square card. This is my last sheet of this card :o( ... think I'll have to invest in some more!
  • Background - is made from homemade texture paste and a stencil made out of a cereal packet (good old Blue Peter "makes" ... they set you up for most things!). The texture paste is made to a recipe in this month's Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine using PVA glue, talcum powder, Pearl White Acrylic Paint and a little water, which I mixed together with a coffee stirrer (now I know what that good reason was when it jumped into my handbag last time I was at  Coffee Shop!) in an old mustard jar with a lid. The stencil was made by using my small Snowflake Punch to make a random snowflake pattern in the card. I then used an old plastic club membership card to smear the texture paste across
the stencil, so that the shape of the snowflake came out on my base card. I then sprinkled some White Glitter onto the snowflakes and then left it all to dry overnight.
  • Image - is the utterly gorgeous Snowflake Reindeer Silhouette by Jodie at Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I have simply printed this onto white card, cut round  and mounted it onto my snowy, night sky  ... OK, so a little imagination may be needed here!
  • Sentiment - is by Paulette at Create with TLC which was a goodie in the December 2011 Club. I know that the line "Dashing through the snow" relates to a horse-drawn sleigh, but I thought it highly appropriate for this image too, given the number of snowflakes on the Reindeer image and my background.

So, that's it for my card with texture - why don't you head over to Incy Wincy Designs and see how my teamies have Added Texture. Don't forget to come back and show us your projects with texture - this challenge will end on Sunday 19th January 2014.

Hope you have a good and crafty day!

A Snowy Forest

Good morning friends - hope this post finds you well. Now please can someone shed some light on where last week disappeared to? I can't believe how quickly the weeks are going by!

It's new challenge time it's new challenge time at Incy Wincy Designs and this week we want to see more of your Christmas creations as our theme this week is Christmas - Let It Snow!

Again this week, we've got 2 amazing sponsors offering our lucky winners prizes!

Firstly we've got this gorgeous bundle of charms from Iva Nova Chest ... I have to confess that as soon as us DT girls saw this prize, we all threatened to resign en masse as we would all dearly love to win this!!!!

Our second sponsor is own very own Teamie Nikki who owns Limited Runs Digital Stamps. Nikki is offering our second lucky prize winner 3 digis from her store.

Nikki was also kind enough to let us all loose in her on-line store and each DT member had their own choice of which digi to use - thanks Nikki!!!! :o)

So here is my snowy card:

My card recipe is as follows:

  • Base Card - made from Centura Pearl in Snow White, which I cut, scored and folded to make a 10.5cm x 14.7cm card.
  • Design Paper - is a members download from Club Inspire section of the Crafter's Companion website. This freebie was released in November 2010 and is called Festive Florals. I have digitally matted my papers with a dark blue border using my word processing programme.
  • Image - is Pine Forest by Nikki of Limited Runs Stamps which I brought to life using my Craf-T Chalks in the following colours before giving everything a very liberal coating of white glitter!:
    • Trees - Dark Green, Light Brown, Dark Brown
    • Snow - Grey
    • Sky - Turquoise
  • Sentiment -  comes from Paulette at Create with TLC  and this was part of the 2011 Christmas Club.
  • Ribbon - from my stash
  • Snowflakes - punched from Centura Pearl in Snow White using my largest snowflkae punch. I bent up the fronds to give them a bit of dimension.

I hope you'll come over to Incy Wincy Designs and see the wonderful snowy creations by my teamies, our December Guest Designer Sue and our former teamie Annette, who's joining us this week.  Don't forget to come back and share your Christmas - Let it Snow  creations with us - this challenge ends on Sunday 15/12/2013.

Cheers!

Good evening friends!

There's now only 1 day left until Christmas, and I'm so pleased that the term has now finished. I have a list as long as both arms, and I'm rapidly running out of time to get things done and sorted!
Once again, I missed (with some style!) the start of this week's new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs ... sorry girls! But I'm here now to share my belated card with you. But firstly, you'll want to know both the theme of the challenge, which this week is Christmas - Mistletoe or Holly.

Our lovely sponsor this week is the team from Bugaboo Stamps, who have kindly provided some images for the DT to work with. Thanks guys! Make sure you head over there because as well as the goodies the girls and I have been working with, there's always a "Friday Freebie" ... and who doesn't like a freebie?
And here is my card for you this week:

My card recipe is as follows:

  • Base Card - made from Centura Pearl in Snow White, cut, scored and folded to make a 12cm square card
  • Design Papers - are by Paulette at Create with TLC and are called Christmas Royal Snowflakes. They were a freebie on Paulette's blog a few weeks ago, and I love the rich colours she's put together
  • Image -  is called JJ Christmas - Cheers. I brought this rather tipsy one to life courtesy of my Spectrum Noir Pens and my Silver Gel Pen
  • Sentiment - is alo by Paulette at Create with TLC. I think it was a freebie last year, but it could have equally well been part of one of the Christmas clubs.
  • Snowflakes - punched from Centura Pearl in Snow White and then I stuck a clear gem from stash to the centre of each.

Do check out the Incy Wincy Designs blog and see the other gorgeous Christmas cards featuring Holly or Mistletoe by my talented team-mates. Then come back and show us your seasonal projects - due to my total ineptitude, you've only got a few hours left to get your creations linked up. This is our last challenge for 2012 and we're taking a break for a couple of weeks - we'll be back with our first challenge of 2013 on 7th January!

I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas ... I hope that Santa is very kind to you!

Hugs,
Helen x

A Snowy Recipe

Good morning friends,

Welcome to another Sunday morning, and new challenge time at The Crafty Pad. Tina is this week's hostess, and her challenge for the Team A girls and you this week is A Recipe - 3 Snowflakes, 2 Ribbons and 1 Sentiment.

The wonderful team at Robyn's Fetish are our sponsors this week, and they're offering this week's lucky winner 5 Digis of your choice! They've also been kind enough to provide the DT with images to showcase.

And here is my project this week:

My tag recipe is as follows:

  • Base Card - made from Centura Pearl in Kingfisher (which came in a Brights pack from Crafter's Companion, which they don't appear to have on their website at the moment). I embossed this using the largest tag shape on my Ultimate Pro Embossing Board Springtime Sweets and Cupcake Treats and I then very carefully cut out round the scalloped edge.
  • Image - this lovely snowlady is called gorgeous  Bella Da Snowlady by Robyn's Fetish... how cute and cool is she? I have brought her to life using my Spectrum Noir Pens in the following colours:
    • Hearts - CR11
    • Nose - OR1
    • Coat - BT1, BT2, BT4, BT5
    • Scarf & Hat - BT1, BT2, BT5, BT6
    • Shading of Snow - IG1, IG2
    • Outline - IG1
  • Sentiment - by Debbie at (Crafty Pad Designs) and is one from a set of 11 Christmas Sentiment Tickets. There are various sentiments in this collection to suit most occasions. I took the sentiment into my word processing package and changed the colour to an aqua shade, to match with my tag and colouring. As you may have seen in my post of last week, Debbie has taken the difficult decision to close her store in the new year, and currently everything is on sale at 25% off until 6th January 2013 ... so go and grab yourself a bargain or two!
  • Snowflakes - punched in two different sizes from Centura Pearl card  in Snow White
  • Ribbons - from my stash and threaded through a hole in the top of my tag which I made using my smaller snowflake punch. The Sparkly Merry Christmas ribbon is truly scrumptious and is gold flecked as well as having this lovely sentiment printed through it ... I'm sorry that my photo doesn't really do it justice!

In the meantime, do hop over to The Crafty Pad and see the gorgeous creations by the rest of Team A. Then come back and show us your creations using our Recipe! You've got until 8pm (GMT) on Saturday 15th December 2012 to link your cards up.
