Frosty the Snowlady .....

Yup, I'm bursting into song again ... but I don't think my new title will beat the original! ;)

Good morning crafty friends and hope this post finds you fine and dandy. Well, the weather did it's usual thing for a Bank Holiday in the UK didn't it. On the plus side, Saturday and Sunday were fine and dry here so I got quite a bit of washing done and even managed to wash my car ... I won't be parking under a certain tree at the gym again! I'll leave that one to your imagination .... :oD !!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm a little late bringing you this post  as I got carried away over the weekend (apologies) as yesterday saw the start of our new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs and this one is right up my street as we're looking for your Clean and Simple creations.

This challenge is being kindly sponsored by Rick St Dennis who is offering a prize of 2 digital images to our lucky prize winner. Rick's Zibbet shop features his cute, fashion, whimsical and unusual images ... there's bound to be at least a couple of images there to suit everyone's tastes! 

Rick was kind enough to let each DT member choose an image to showcase for this challenge, so here's my card for you featuring one of Rick's images:

My card recipe is as follows:

• Card base - is a pre-made A6 card base in white card. I've embossed the card base and coloured it whilst embossing by applying my pearlescent blue Brilliance ink pad to the screen printed side of my (now retired) Sheena Festive Embossing Folder "Ornamental Snowflake" before running the card sandwich through my machine.
  
• Image - is Mrs Frosty Digi Stamp by Rick St Dennis which I've coloured using my Spectrum Noir Pens in the listed colours (the artist shaded areas make it really easy to colour!), before die cutting it with my largest Die'sire Essentials Rectangles die. A slick of Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen gives a frosty feel to the scene.
• Snow - IG1, IG2, IG3
• Hat & Lacy Collar - IB1, IB2, IB3, BT9
• Rose - TN3, EB3, EB8, DG2, DG3
• Carrot - OR1, OR2
• "Arms" (Sticks) - TN3, EB3, EB8
• Sentiment - comes from a set which was included with the Winter 2014 edition of the Crafter's Inspiration Magazine which I stamped using the pearlescent blue Brilliance ink.

The Magi

Morning friends!

Yesterday was a good day at Casa Mia as our Christmas cake is now made and resting. Of course it will need feeding between now and 25th December, and the more time between these 2 days the better .... hic! :o)

Rick is very kindly offering this week's lucky winner a prize pack, and has also allowed each of the DT member to pick a digi to showcase. So here's my card for you with one of Rick's digis:

I have to confess that I think I might have made a bit of a "horlicks" when doing this project. I wanted to make a more traditional Christmas card and thought that this image would be fab. However, when I printed it out the right size for my card base I very quickly realised that I wasn't going to be colouring this image in any time soon - it's just too small to do justice to all that detail. So I've just kept this very simple and monochrome :o/

My card recipe is as follows:

• Card base - is a pre-made white card blank 15cm x 10.5cm approx
• Paper - comes from a set by Janet Scott at Pixel Scrapper Digital Scrapbooking called Christmas Memories. This paper is called Birth of Jesus Text Paper. I have matted and layered this onto black cardstock.
  
• Image - is by Rick St. Dennis and it is called We Three Kings. I die cut this using the second largest Die'sire Essentials Squares die and matted and layered onto black card.
• Sentiment - is by Paulette at Create with TLC and it comes from a set called Peace in Believing. It has been die cut using one of my Die'sire Essentials Stars dies, before being matted and layered onto black card.

For those of you who might be interested, the Bible verse in the sentiment relates to the Three Kings being in Bethlehem and being guided to the stable where Jesus was born, and the paper I've used contains text from the various Gospels regarding the birth of Jesus .... some thought DID go into this card you know! I also think I'll have another attempt at this card, just making the card base and the image bigger so that I can colour it.

And All That Jazz

Morning friends! How are you are today? We had a simply gorgeous weekend here and yesterday was wall to wall sunshine with not a cloud in the sky. Hope you had a great weekend too!

It's new challenge day at Incy Wincy Designs and this week we're looking for your Monochromatic creations. Skin tones are OK, but otherwise your creations should be tones of one colour!

This challenge is being sponsored by Rick St. Dennis and this week's lucky winner will receive some Digital Stamps from his store. Pop over and take a look at all the fun and quirky stamps he has, which are beautifully drawn which makes them a breeze to colour! You can also read all about Rick here.

Rick kindly supplied each DT member with her choice of image to use for this challenge, and here is my card for you:

My card recipe is as follows:

• Card Base - is made from Centura Pearl in Teal which I have cut, scored (using my Ultimate Pro and Boxer Scoreboard) and folded to make a 14 x 16.5cm  Centre Step card. I then embossed the card base using my Embossalicious Petite Dot 6" x 6" Folder, sadly no longer available from Crafter's Companion.
• Design Paper - is a blog freebie from Paulette at Create with TLC which I think I got in April last year. I die cut this using my largest Framelits Fancy Labels die.
• Image - this gorgeous songstress is called Chanteuse 2 JaZz BaBY and she has been beautifully
  
  drawn by Rick St. Dennis. Rick's shading on the drawing made it very easy to bring this cabaret star to life with my Spectrum Noir Pens in the following colours before die cutting it with my second largest Framelits Fancy Labels die:
• Hair - IG2, IG4, IG2
• Skin - TN2, TN3, TN4 (this is the first time I've tried a darker skin - how did I do?)
• Jewellery - BT5, Silver Gel Pen
• Gloves - BT2, BT5
• Dress - BT2, BT5, BT6, BT9
• Shoes - BT6, True Black, Silver Gel Pen
• Microphone - True Black, Silver Gel Pen
• Shadow - IG2
• Sentiment - is another freebie by Paulette at Create with TLC from May last year. I hand cut the banner shape before mounting the image on my card.
• Pearls - from my stash and coloured using my Spectrum Noir Pens in BT4
