A Snowy Recipe

Good morning friends,

Welcome to another Sunday morning, and new challenge time at The Crafty Pad. Tina is this week's hostess, and her challenge for the Team A girls and you this week is A Recipe - 3 Snowflakes, 2 Ribbons and 1 Sentiment.

The wonderful team at Robyn's Fetish are our sponsors this week, and they're offering this week's lucky winner 5 Digis of your choice! They've also been kind enough to provide the DT with images to showcase.

And here is my project this week:

My tag recipe is as follows:

  • Base Card - made from Centura Pearl in Kingfisher (which came in a Brights pack from Crafter's Companion, which they don't appear to have on their website at the moment). I embossed this using the largest tag shape on my Ultimate Pro Embossing Board Springtime Sweets and Cupcake Treats and I then very carefully cut out round the scalloped edge.
  • Image - this lovely snowlady is called gorgeous  Bella Da Snowlady by Robyn's Fetish... how cute and cool is she? I have brought her to life using my Spectrum Noir Pens in the following colours:
    • Hearts - CR11
    • Nose - OR1
    • Coat - BT1, BT2, BT4, BT5
    • Scarf & Hat - BT1, BT2, BT5, BT6
    • Shading of Snow - IG1, IG2
    • Outline - IG1
  • Sentiment - by Debbie at (Crafty Pad Designs) and is one from a set of 11 Christmas Sentiment Tickets. There are various sentiments in this collection to suit most occasions. I took the sentiment into my word processing package and changed the colour to an aqua shade, to match with my tag and colouring. As you may have seen in my post of last week, Debbie has taken the difficult decision to close her store in the new year, and currently everything is on sale at 25% off until 6th January 2013 ... so go and grab yourself a bargain or two!
  • Snowflakes - punched in two different sizes from Centura Pearl card  in Snow White
  • Ribbons - from my stash and threaded through a hole in the top of my tag which I made using my smaller snowflake punch. The Sparkly Merry Christmas ribbon is truly scrumptious and is gold flecked as well as having this lovely sentiment printed through it ... I'm sorry that my photo doesn't really do it justice!

In the meantime, do hop over to The Crafty Pad and see the gorgeous creations by the rest of Team A. Then come back and show us your creations using our Recipe! You've got until 8pm (GMT) on Saturday 15th December 2012 to link your cards up.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Have a good weekend!

Poinsettia for Christmas

Hi,
It's another Monday and  it's new challenge time at Lexi's Creations -  this time Susan is looking forward to Christmas ... nice and simple!!!

Our wonderful sponsor this time is Priyanka from My Heart Pieces. The prize that is up for grabs this week is 3 of Priyanka's lovely digital images. Pop over to her blog to check out her cute digis.

Lexi has, once again, let the DT loose in her on-line store again (thanks Lexi!) and this is the card I have made to show to you today using one of her gorgeous digis:

My card recipe is as follows:
  • Base Card - made from Centura Pearl in Red (originally from a pack of Christmas colours) which is cut, scored and folded into a Triangular Tri-Fold card around 10cm square.
  • Image - This beautiful flower is "Layered Poinsettia" and it is just one of the gorgeous images to have come from the pen of Lexi at Fairy Dust Crafts. I brought it to life using my Spectrum Noir Pens in shades CR11,DR1, DG3, DG4, IG1. I then hand stitched a small seed bead as the centre of the flower as I layered up the bracts.
  • Sentiment - is from the Christmas Sentiment Tickets set by Debbie at The Crafty Pad . I've coloured the holly brerries and leaves in the same shades as the poinsettia.
  • Ribbon - from my stash

Head on over to Lexi's Creations and see the gorgeous creations by my talented team-mates - don't forget to come back and share your creations with us! You've got until Saturday 8th December 2012 to link your cards up.

A Cupcake Recipe

Good morning friends!

This will be a very swift post from me as I didn't get time to write and schedule this over the weekend ... and now I'm writing this in haste as I'm off to train some Guide Leaders in calligraphy today.

Anyway, it's new challenge time at Incy Wincy Designs and this week we've got a Recipe for you to follow:

4 Papers, 3 Brads, 2 Ribbons, 1 Image

We've got two great sponsors this week.

Fantastic Ribbons who are giving this week's lucky winner 4 rolls of their scrumptious ribbons

and

our very own Nikki from Limited Runs Digis whose gorgeous images have been used by some of the DT.

Here is my card to inspire you for this challenge:

I'm sorry the photo is so rubbish ... now the clocks have gone back I'm struggling with the curse of getting decent photos under and electric light!

My card recipe is as follows:
  • Base Card - made from Centura Pearl in Snow White, cut, scored and folded to make a 15cm square card
  • Design Papers - are all by Summer at Summertime Designs from the set Believe. My main paper is called Candy Cane Paper and the three squares (running from top left downwards) are Holly Paper, Snowflakes Paper and Green Dots Paper.
  • Brads - I'm afraid I cheated a bit here as I couldn't find my brads and the shops had closed. So I used 3 small pearls to make one of my holly sprigs white berried.
  • Ribbons - are both by Fantastic Ribbons and came from a Blog Candy that I won from Annette last autumn. I love the red ribbon which is printed with "Merry Christmas" in gold, and is also flecked with gold. I doesn't show up very well in the photo above. I'll try to get better photos later.
  • Image - is by Nikki at Limited Runs Digis who very kindly let me have Holly Cupcake to showcase today. I've coloured this using my Spectrum Noir Pens - I'll be back later to list the individual colours I used.

My Incy Wincy team-mates and Saumya (this month's Guest Designer who is with us for the last time this week) have got plenty of further inspiration for you, so do pop over and check out their creations for this Recipe Challenge. Don't forget to come back and share your creations with us - you've got until Sunday 4th November 2012 to link your cards up.

Until later,

Friends

Good morning everyone and an especially warm welcome to my newest followers, Twisted Witch and Elaine. Thank you for joining me on my journey through papercrafting and blogland!

As it's Monday morning, it's time for a new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs, and this week we'd like to see your cards for Friends.

We've got two great sponsors this week: the lovely team at Fantastic Ribbons and Mayzy from Mayzy Art who has provided the digis that the DT are using this week. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this post Mayzy's store is closed so I can't link up to the gorgeous image I've got on my card.

Those of you who have followed me for a while may know that I work in a high school, so when I headed over to Mayzy's store to choose an image for this challenge I knew this one was perfect! It is so typical of what I see the youngsters at school doing ... going around at break and lunchtimes permanently attached to their mobiles!

My card recipe is as follows:

  • Base Card - is Centura Pearl in Ivory, which I have cut, scored and folded to make a 15cm square card.
  • Design Paper - is called a 'page plopper' from a set called Moments by Summer at Summertime Designs. I know this is a bit of a cheats way of layering items, because Summer has done all the hard work! I love the colours of this paper and, when time is tight looks great for minimal effort! I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes realises I need a card, like yesterday!
  • Image - This little cutie is called Texting Trixie and you can get her by clicking here. I have brought this slightly gawky teen to life using my Spectrum Noir Pens in the following colours:
    • Skin - FS3, FS6
    • Hair - TN2, TN3, TN4 & OR1 for the hairbands. I think I've made a better job of trying to get shine in her hair than I usually do - maybe my colouring skills are improving, slowly!
    • Eyes - TB4
    • Lips - TN4
    • Earrings - Gold Gel Pen
    • Top - DG2, DG4
    • Shorts - OR1
    • Belt - True Black, Gold Gel Pen
    • Shoes - True Black
    • Outline - IG1
    • Background - Chalks in Grey, Light Blue & Pink
    • Edge Distressed - Orange Chalk
  • Sentiment - is by the talented Paulette at Create with TLC and was a freebie she gave away on her blog in February this year. It's perfect for a teen image as I know my eldest and her friends will often just text "Hi" to each other! I distressed the edge of this in Orange Chalk to, so it ties in with my image.
  • Bling - from my stash.

My very talented "teamies" at Incy Wincy Designs have made some gorgeous projects for Friends so do head over there and leave them some love. Don't forget to come back and share your creations with us - you've got until Sunday 30th September 2012 to link your cards up.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (with some help from the girls at Feline Playful - thanks girls):

Thank you all for the wonderful comments you leave for me - I do read and appreciate every one!

Hope you have a great week!

Hugs, Helen x
